This hand-built ceramic plate captures the quiet elegance of traditional Japanese pottery, finished in a soft silver-ash glaze with fine, rippling horizontal striations that catch the light like rings in old wood. Delicate, calligraphic brushstrokes drift across the surface in abstract, free-flowing lines, adding a sense of movement and quiet poetry to the piece. The plate's organic, irregular rim curves gently like a leaf caught mid-fall, while three small raised feet on the underside, each tipped in white, lift it with quiet grace. Together, the textured surface, wandering glaze tones, and sculptural silhouette create a piece that feels both grounded in tradition and alive with artistic spontaneity. Beautifully suited for serving small dishes, displaying a kokedama, or simply standing alone as a quiet work of art.
